The University of Mary Washington, INCOSE Central Virginia Chapter and the INCOSE Training Working Group are offering a three-day tutorial session at the UMW Dahlgren Campus designed to improve your knowledge and understanding of Systems Engineering fundamentals as well as prepare you for the INCOSE SE Certification Exam.

Topics

The SE Fundamentals portion of the tutorial covers the foundation from the SE Standards perspective which includes EIA/IS-632, IEEE 1220, EIA-632, and ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288. The tutorial also provides participants with a composite view of SE and personal help in understanding and applying SE concepts and principles.

The SE Certification portion of the tutorial covers the INCOSE SE Certification process and the INCOSE SE Handbook version 3.2.2. The tutorial also provides sample questions, test-taking tips, and assistance completing the exam application process.

Cost

The course cost is $500.00 or $450.00 for individual INCOSE members or individuals whose organizations are INCOSE Corporate Advisory Board (CAB) Members.  To determine if your organization is a CAB member, the list is available at http://www.incose.org/about/organization/cab.cfm.  The cost also is $450.00 each for two or more individuals from the same organization.  The course cost includes substantial course materials including hard and soft copies of slides and audio recordings for post-tutorial review and exam prep.

Your Instructor:

John O. Clark is a Chief Engineer and the Corporate SE Instructor at Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) with over 47 years experience applying Systems Engineering (SE) and Software Engineering. He is an internationally recognized Subject Matter Expert in SE and a founder and member of several NGC and International Council of Systems Engineering (INCOSE) Working Groups (WGs). For NGC, John is the founder of the SE Handbook WG, the Agile Community of Practice (CoP), and the INCOSE CoP; a key member of the Process WG, Training WG, and Requirements WG; the SE Associates (SEA) SE instructor; and the lead SE developer of SE101. For INCOSE, he is the Training WG founder and leader, Process Improvement WG leader, SE Handbook tutorial project leader, SE Fundamentals and Certified SE Professional (CSEP) courses developer and instructor, and is a CSEP. Recipient of the NGC Exemplary Performance Award for Multi-Sector Collaboration from Wes Bush (NGC President and CEO) and Dr John Chino (NGC VP of Programs and Engineering) for developing the NGC SE Handbook. Recipient of the coveted INCOSE Outstanding Service Award and selected to the INCOSE Hall of Leaders at the INCOSE International Symposium in 2010 “For promoting the INCOSE Certification program through leadership in the development and ongoing delivery of the INCOSE SE Handbook Tutorial.” BSEE Penn State, MSEE State University of New York, Industrial and Professional Advisory Council member at Penn State, adjunct SE instructor and SE Advisory Council member at the University of Maryland, and adjunct SE instructor at Old Dominion University.
